Patrick

Patrick Hakala is a 13 years old karting talent, who started racing at the age of 8. It didn’t take long to achieve great results and 1 year later, in 2015, he achieved his first podium in Estonian Championship round in Hiiumaa. Patrick improved driving in a steady pace and in 2016 he won his first Championship title in Micro 60 category.

Real breakthrough came in 2017, when Patrick won everything that could be won. Most important results were 1st place in X30 Finland Challenge and 3rd place in X30 Mini International Finals in Le Manse, France.

In 2018 Patrick was 3rd in IAME Finland X30 series, as one of the youngest among 80 drivers. In Estonian Championship series he came 4th with one win.

In 2019 Patrick joined Kohtala Sports, a Finnish professional karting team which has helped many international motorsport stars in their early stage, the most known is Formula 1 driver Valtteri Bottas. Patrick raced in OKJ category and showed extremely big potential already at the beginning of season. Even though it was his first year in OKJ, Patrick solidified his speed in the top10 in all international series, including European and World Championship races. In Estonian Championship series Patrick has participated only two rounds and won them both. Due to a schedule problems, he is not able to drive the whole series. In IAME Baltic Cup Patrick came 3rd in X30 Junior category.

In 2020 Patrick will continue in OKJ category and with the speed shown already this season, he will be one of the front runners.
